1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Quick Reads' website at quickreads.co.za (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.

2. Description of Service

Quick Reads provides a free language translation service that allows users to translate text between over 100 languages, including all 11 official South African languages. The Service is provided "as is" and is intended for informational and personal use purposes.

3. Use of the Service

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

  • Use the Service in any way that violates any applicable law or regulation
  • Submit content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
  • Attempt to interfere with, compromise the system integrity or security, or decipher any transmissions to or from the servers running the Service
  • Use automated systems, including bots, crawlers, or scrapers, to access the Service without our express written permission
  • Impose an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on our infrastructure
  • Use the Service for mass translation of copyrighted content without authorization
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer our translation technology

4. Translation Accuracy

While we strive to provide accurate translations, the results are approximations and may not capture all nuances of the source text. Translations may be affected by:

  • Complexity of the source text
  • Idiomatic expressions and cultural context
  • Technical or specialized terminology
  • Ambiguous phrasing in the source language
  • Language pair availability and maturity

Important: Translations should not be used as the sole basis for legal, medical, financial, or other critical decisions. For official documents or professional purposes, we strongly recommend using certified human translators.

5. User Content

You retain all rights to the content you submit for translation. By using our Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process your content solely for the purpose of providing the translation service. We do not claim ownership of your content and do not permanently store your translations.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Quick Reads and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, or exploit any of our content without express written permission.

7. Third-Party Content and Advertising

Our Service may contain advertisements provided by third parties, including Google AdSense. These advertisements are the responsibility of the advertisers. We do not endorse and are not responsible for the content of any third-party advertisements or any products or services advertised.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE. WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES AS TO THE ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, OR COMPLETENESS OF ANY TRANSLATIONS PROVIDED THROUGH THE SERVICE.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, QUICK READS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE THE SERVICE, INCLUDING ANY ERRORS OR OMISSIONS IN TRANSLATIONS.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Quick Reads and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the courts of South Africa.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time at our sole discretion. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion. By continuing to access or use our Service after any revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable or invalid, such provision will be changed and interpreted to accomplish the objectives of such provision to the greatest extent possible under applicable law, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
